Workshop
Where vintage audio furniture is reimagined.
The Viaggi Audio workshop is where selected radiograms, record cabinets and vintage audio furniture are assessed, stripped back, prepared and reworked for modern living.
Each piece arrives with its own history, construction and character. Some are chosen for their original cabinet design. Others are selected because they have the right proportions to become a modern media unit, vinyl cabinet, audio console or statement furniture piece.
Selected turntable servicing, mechanical repairs and speaker refoaming are available through our Servicing & Repairs department.
Our Process
1. Assess
Every piece begins with a full visual and structural assessment. We look at the cabinet, veneer, legs, speaker grilles, controls, internal layout, turntable space and overall potential.
The question is not simply whether it can be repaired. The question is what it can become.
2. Prepare
The cabinet is cleaned, stripped where needed, sanded and prepared for its next stage. Damaged tops, worn finishes, tired fabric and loose details are dealt with carefully so the original character is not lost.
This stage often decides the final direction of the piece — whether it remains close to its original look or becomes a more modern Viaggi Audio design.
3. Rework
Once prepared, the cabinet is reworked around its new purpose. This may include new internal layouts, media storage, speaker cloth, lighting, cable access, modern audio options or a complete change of function.
Original details are retained where they add value. Anything that no longer serves the final piece is simplified, cleaned up or redesigned.
4. Reimagine
The final stage is about presentation and usability. The piece is finished so it can sit naturally in a modern home — not as old equipment, but as furniture with presence, history and purpose.
The result is vintage audio heritage, reimagined for contemporary living.

Why We Work This Way
Traditional radiograms were not just music systems. They were furniture, storage, technology and design in one object.
Viaggi Audio takes that idea forward. The workshop process allows us to preserve the design language of these pieces while giving them a new role in the modern home.
Some pieces become reimagined vintage audio cabinets. Others influence our own Linear Range — contemporary furniture inspired by the form and purpose of classic radiograms.
Current Workshop Pieces
Our workshop pieces change as new cabinets arrive and existing projects move forward.
Current and upcoming projects include selected vintage audio furniture from makers such as Dynatron, Sobell, Ferguson, HMV, Grundig and other British and European manufacturers.
Each one is developed individually. No two pieces are exactly the same.
Follow the Process
The workshop is part of the story. We document the journey from arrival and inspection through to preparation, reworking and final presentation.
Follow Viaggi Audio to see how each piece develops from forgotten vintage furniture into something ready for modern living.
